Privacy notice
This notice explains what happens to personal information when you use Local Up Lab, complete one of our forms or contact us directly.
Who controls your information
Local Up Lab is a service operated by Budle Consulting Ltd, company number 11100637, registered in England and Wales. Our registered office is 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ.
For privacy questions or requests, email info@localuplab.com or telephone 020 3519 1246.
Information we collect
- Your name and business name.
- Your email address, telephone number and contact preferences.
- Information you provide about your business, website, services, location, customers and marketing.
- Messages, enquiries, applications and records of our responses.
- Limited technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as IP address, browser and server logs.
The free Growth Scorecard runs in your browser. Your answers are not currently submitted to us unless you later choose to contact us and share them.
Why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry or free concept application.
- To assess whether and how we can help your business.
- To provide requested services and manage our relationship.
- To maintain appropriate business, security and accounting records.
- To send marketing only where we have consent or another lawful basis, and always with a way to opt out.
Depending on the circumstances, we rely on taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, consent, or our legitimate interests in running and improving the business. We do not sell personal information.
Who receives it
We use trusted suppliers for website hosting, business email, customer communications, form processing and automation. They may process information only to provide those services to us. We may also disclose information where legally required or to professional advisers where necessary.
Some suppliers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use the safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as an adequacy regulation or approved contractual protections.
How long we keep it
General enquiries and unsuccessful free concept applications are normally kept for up to 12 months. Client communications and project records are normally kept for up to six years after the relationship ends where needed for legal, contractual and accounting purposes. Information used solely for marketing is removed when you withdraw consent or object, subject to keeping a minimal suppression record so we do not contact you again accidentally.
WhatsApp and telephone contact
If you choose to contact us through WhatsApp, or explicitly ask us to respond there, WhatsApp and any messaging provider we use will process your number and message data under their own terms. You can ask us to stop messaging you on WhatsApp at any time. Selecting a WhatsApp option is not consent to unrelated marketing.
Cookies and similar storage
We use necessary browser storage to remember your cookie choice and to support the secure operation of the website. This storage is not used to build an advertising profile and cannot be switched off through our preference tool because the tool needs it to remember your decision.
We use Google Analytics 4 only when you accept analytics cookies. It helps us understand page visits, scorecard completions, enquiries and contact-button use. We do not use it to collect the information typed into our forms. Marketing trackers are not currently loaded. You can accept, reject or change optional categories at any time by selecting .
Your preference record is stored in your browser and includes the categories selected, the consent version and the date of the choice. Clearing browser storage will remove that record and the website will ask you again.
Your rights
UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or receive a copy of your information, and to object to certain uses. Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful use.
Contact us first and we will try to resolve the matter. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes to this notice
We will update this page when our forms, suppliers or uses of information change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
